About Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since 1964.
This sport requires great speed and game dynamics, being one of the team sports with the highest number of players in Portugal and showing a great development in the school curricula as well as outstanding results within the national main team, namely in the World League.
Associação Académica de Coimbra has a tradition in both grassroots and Universities Sport with some interesting results in the National Universities Championships.
