Rugby 7s

About Rugby 7s

PROVISIONAL TIMETABLE

Rugby 7s is a variant of rugby union in which teams are made of seven players playing seven-minute halves, instead of the usual 15 players playing 40-minute halves.

Due to the shorter time of the game, the intensity agility and the technical skills of the players make of this discipline a particular enthusiastic sport.

The game is popular at all levels, with amateur and club tournaments generally held in the summer months. 7s is one of the most well-distributed forms of rugby and is popular in parts of Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas, and especially in the South Pacific.

Académica is one of the greatest rugby teams in Portugal and has a long list of awards, standing out four national titles and six cups of Portugal in Rugby.
