University of Coimbra hosted the IV Portuguese Judo Congress
University of Coimbra hosted this weekend the IV Portuguese Judo Congress, an event organized by the Portuguese Judo Federation (FPJ). The congress is part of the European Universities Games Coimbra 2018’s Educational Programme. The event occurred during the 58th FPJ anniversary, which was celebrated this Saturday, the day where the annual Gala took place in Hotel D. Luís.
It was two days where Judo was the main subject in Coimbra, with several speakers who debated subjects such as the future of the sport, the grassroots evolution, judging, ethics, Tokyo 2020 Olympics, amongst others.
This was another event held in Coimbra due to the EUG 2018, which will occur in July 2018. Besides the sporting competition, the organization developed an Educational Programme that comprises several events and activities, like this Convention. This event is also due to several partnerships established between EUG’s 2018 Organizing Committee and Portuguese Sports Federations, like FPJ.
Portuguese Confederation of Sports also in Coimbra
This weekend Coimbra was also the stage of a training event organized by the Portuguese Confederation of Sports. It was a two-day event in which the attendees had a training session in Sports Management with the speaker Horácio Lopes. The event took place in Coimbra's University Stadium, the main stage of the European Universities Games 2018, and results of the partnership between the EUG and the Portuguese Confederation of Sports.
