Badminton is over and more Champions rise

The Badminton competition is closed and said it's goodbye in an excellent morning, full of new champions!

 

Lilian Yang, from the University of Nottingham (UK), won the first gold medal of the day by beating Rosy Pancarasi, from the University of Strasbourg (FRA), by 2-0, in Women Singles. The bronze medalists were Maryna Ilynska, from National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute (UKR) and Vladyslava Lisna from the same university.

 

The University of Bordeaux (FRA), represented by Valentin Singer, took the first place in Men Singles, after winning over Yusuf Bay, from the University of Uludag (TUR). The third place of the podium was occupied by Marc Laporte, also from Bordeaux and Oleksandr Shmundiak from National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute. 

 

In the Women Doubles, National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute won the gold beating The Duisburg-Essen University (GER) by 2-0. The bronze medals were for University of Zagreb (CRO) and The University of Nijmegen (NED). 

 

On Mixed Doubles, The University of Lobachevsky (RUS) won against the University of Nottingham by 2-0. While the bronze medals were both for The University of Strasbourg with two doubles.

 

Finally, on the Men Doubles competition, The University of Strasbourg was at centre stage with both teams on the final, with Baures/Gangloff winning by 2-0 against Laemmel/Martinez, while the bronzes were to Catholic University of Leuven (BEL) and The University of Bern (SWI).
