Second registration phase for the EUG2018 starts after record interest in first phase

January 15 was the 1st General Entry registration deadline for the European Universities Games Coimbra 2018. We are pleased to record big interest for participation. Confirmation of first teams will start shortly! Meanwhile, the second round of registration has just been reopened.

The 2nd General Entry deadline is February 15, 2018. Since the number of places available is limited, we encourage you to register and complete the payments as soon as possible. Interested teams representing European universities should register through the national university sports body in their country.

 

European Universities Games Coimbra 2018 will take place between July 15 and 28, 4,000 participants from Europe’s leading sports universities will be able to compete across 13 sports in Portugal’s student city, Coimbra.

 

Sports programme of the European Universities Games Coimbra 2018 includes Badminton, Basketball, 3x3 Basketball, Football, Futsal, Handball, Judo, Rowing, Rugby 7s, Table Tennis & Para Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball and Canoe Sprint as a demonstrative sport. In every sport, competitions are open to both men and women, including competitions for students with disabilities in Para Table Tennis. European students between the ages of 17-30 will represent their respective universities at the Games. If you are interested in being involved in the largest gathering of European student-athletes in 2018 then contact the national university sports body in your country to find out how to be there!

 

Alongside the sports competitions, the games focus on educational and social aspects of university sport in Europe, featuring conferences and workshops in topics such as Anti-Doping, Inclusion, Dual Career, as well as a Rectors Conference.

QUICK REGISTRATION DETAILS
Registrations are possible through the national university sports bodies in Europe.
1st General Entry Deadline: January 15, 2018
Quantitative Entry Deadline: April 15, 2018
Individual Entry and Travel Plan: June 1, 2018
Costs: Participation Fee is 65 EUR per person (athletes and officials) per day, and the EUSA Entry Fee is 30 EUR per person. The fees cover local transport, transfer from the official airport (Porto), accommodation, catering and organisational costs. Participants need to arrange the transportation to Porto and have proper insurance.

ABOUT EUG2018

The European Universities Games are licensed by the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and are supported by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). For the 2018 Games, the European Commission committed almost half a million euros to the project through the Erasmus+ programme; and also the City of Coimbra and the University of Coimbra are substantially supporting the event. Practical and logistical support is being provided also by other two key local partners – the Portuguese University Sports Federation (FADU) and Academica - Academic Association of Coimbra (AAC).
