Rectors’ Conference “Organization and Management model of University Sport”

Governed by the European University Sport Association (EUSA) and organized by the National University Sport Associations (NUSA) every two years in different European cities, the European Universities Games (EUG) are considered the largest European multisport student event and have the goal of promoting friendly competition, unity and tolerance, as well as facilitating friendship and companionship between students and universities.

 

The city of Coimbra is an exceptional place, full of mystic and traditions, with a unique culture and people. Known as the “The City of Knowledge”, Coimbra is truly a University City, which makes it perfect to host the 4th European Universities Games. In the period between July 15 and July 28, the city of Coimbra will host around 4000 participants, students of more than 350 universities from over 40 European countries in 13 Sports and one Para-Sport.

 

As a part of the 4th European Universities Games 2018, Rectors’ Conference will be held from July 14 to July 15, at the University of Coimbra, focused on university sports and more specifically in how to fund, organize and manage sports activities.

 

The Rectors’ Conference is a perfect opportunity to gather the heads of European universities in order to discuss the state of, as well as options for the development of sports at the universities. Exchange ideas, experiences and examples of good practice is one of the main purposes of this event.
