The four organizing institutions of the European Universities Games 2018 signed the final contract with EUSA. The University of Coimbra, Coimbra's Municipality, FADU and Coimbra Academic Association signed the agreement and approved the official budget.

This agreement assures all the final details pending regarding the organization of the event. This is the biggest multi-sport event ever to take place in Portugal.

The meeting where the contract was signed also approved the final budget of four million euros that includes, among other items, the construction or renewal of several sports venues that will not only assure the EUG2018 but also guarantee EUG2018 legacy giving the city of Coimbra the sports infrastructures that make Coimbra one of the best-equipped university cities in Europe, that allow students to combine their academic careers with their sports careers.
