AAC launches volunteering programme for EUG2018

The Academic Association of Coimbra (AAC) launched today the volunteering programme for EUG2018. This programme is meant for local volunteers to give an answer to the need of building a strong team to assure a successful organization and is part of the Volunteers programme managed by EUG2018' Organizing Committee.

 

The selection process will be made through interviews of each candidate and all the selected people to take part of the volunteers' team will have training prior to the EUG2018. Experience will be a key skill in the selection process alongside with interest in sports and the ability for teamwork. 

 

"The event success will be grounded in the Volunteers Team that will be the face of the event to all participants and the community", said Alexandre Amado, AAC's President, that added that "the organization wants to raise interest from Coimbra's population, from UC students to older inhabitants, so they can all be part of an event that will be in Coimbra's history".

 

The Organizing Committee expects to have applications from several European countries and maybe worldwide. All applications have to be made in Eug2018.com until February 16th and the selection will take place until March 31st when the selected candidates will be informed that will be part of the Volunteers Team.

 

The Volunteers will give support in the following areas: accommodation, accreditation, teams following, catering, sports assistance, medical support, media operations, IT, logistics, protocol, transportation. All food and transportation costs are assured by the organization as well as an exclusive social and cultural programme for volunteers during the event. The universities students that take part in the volunteer's programme will have that participation acknowledged on their final diploma.
