The eye of the volunteers - Day 18

Today we start a daily chronical from one of our media volunteers. Liliana Pedro and Júlia Miranda will share their experiences with all who read their daily content. Today Liliana Pedro gives the kick-off to this new content on our website.

How the European Universities Games appeared in my life and how was my first-day volunteering

It was a rainy day and I couldn’t stop scrolling through social media when suddenly my fingers stopped and my hearth start beating with excitement. European Universities Games in Coimbra? Was I dreaming? The happiness was real and I said to myself: “I need to volunteer”. As a Journalism student, I decided to be part of the media department. I would work in what I study and I would have fun as well. A match made in heaven.

Today is when this adventure starts for me. I’m taking care of the media on tennis matches. My main functions are to pay support in whatever the journalists need and to take some photos and videos for the EUG social media. An afternoon well spent volunteering and watching really good athletes doing what the love the most: playing sports.
