Portuguese Team for EUG2018 presented in Coimbra

The Portuguese Team that will compete in the European Universities Games Coimbra 2018 was presented this afternoon in Coimbra. The team will have more than 500 student-athletes representing several Portuguese universities, the biggest Portuguese team ever in the EUG, that will compete under the motto "We play at home"

The event took place at Praça da República, in Coimbra, where all the 24 Portuguese teams that will compete were announced.

This was also the opportunity to announce the Portuguese team ambassador, Augusto Baganha, one of the best basketball players in this sport history in Portugal, currently the President of the Portuguese Institute for Sports and Youth and who competed for Portugal in one edition of the Universiade.

The Portuguese Academic Federation for Universities Sports (FADU) is a co-organizer of the EUG and also the manager of the Portuguese Mission to the EUG. In this event, they've offered personalized scarves with each University name.

For FADU's President, Daniel Monteiro, these are impressive numbers "with 44 teams, 72 delegations, 13 Portuguese Universities and more than 600 people involved, among student-athletes, coaches and officials. We wish them all a great performance, in an event where we all are the face of the success of the organization".
