University of Coimbra hosts the III Portuguese Swimming Convention

University of Coimbra will host this Saturday, 14th of October, the III Portuguese Swimming Convention, an event organized by the Portuguese Swimming Federation (FPN). The convention is part of the European Universities Games Coimbra 2018’s Educational Programme. After the Convention, Hotel Vila Galé in Coimbra will receive the annual Gala of the Federation.

The III Portuguese Swimming Convention will have several speakers and subjects, but we should highlight two important Portuguese athletes, Inês Henriques, World Champion and World Record owner in 50km Female Walk Race, and Fernando Pimenta, Silver in Canoeing World Championships in 2017 and Silver medallist in London 2012 Olympic Games.

This is another event held in Coimbra due to the EUG 2018, which will occur in July 2018. Besides the sporting competition, the organization developed an Educational Programme that comprises several events and activities, like this Convention. This event is also due to several partnerships established between EUG’s 2018 Organizing Committee and Portuguese Sports Federations, like FPN.
