Badminton is the fastest racket sport in the world where players try to hit a shuttlecock across a net. The fastest smash in the world is 421km/h!

Players must have ultrafast reactions and high levels of resistance and agility.

 

In Portugal badminton have in his Olympic athletes’ Pedro Martins and Telma Santos the most well known.

 

In Coimbra, the section of AAC is currently composed of about 200 athletes and is one of the best schools of badminton in Portugal.

Uniforms

Clothing and advertising rules at EUG2018 are the BWF rules:

Each t-shirt can contain a maximum of five advertisements that can be placed on each of these locations: left sleeve, right sleeve, left shoulder, right shoulder, left collar, right collar, right chest, left chest and centre chest (one for each location). This advertisement includes sponsors, University name, national flags or emblems and its area cannot exceed 20 square centimetres.

Advertisement can also be placed in a band of the uniform width not exceeding 10 centimetres on the front and five centimetres on the back. This band can be in the front, in the back or both, at any angle.

T-shirts must have the University name (logo is not mandatory).

If this is included in the back of the t-shirt, this order must be followed: from up to down, 1. Name of the player (Roman alphabet and Capital letters, height 6-10cm), 2. University name (Roman alphabet, Capital letters height 5cm), 3. One band of advertisement (height max. 5cm)

 

 

Rules and Regulations

The competition will be held following the EUSA Document for Rules and Regulations for the European Universities Games.

 

 

Competition Area/Field of Play

The venue will contain eight fields of play and all the competition area and equipment will be presented in accordance with the most recent Technical Regulations of the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
