The European Universities Games Coimbra 2018 (EUG) were one of the partners of the Cadets Portugal Bicycle Tour with the event logo and image on several communications materials, the main one the White Shirt, that recognises the Youth Award to best first year Cadet of the competition.

The White Shirt with the EUG 2018 logo was won by the Spanish cyclist, Juan Ayuso Pesquera (Ginestar), who won two of the three stages of this Tour. The winner of the tour was João Macedo (Mato Cheirinhos/Vila Galé/Etopi).

The event had also the University of Coimbra as one of their official partners. The University, host of European Universities Games, was the stage chosen for the official presentation last Thursday. And Coimbra’s Students dormitories were the accommodation of the athletes competing, the same rooms that will accommodate the EUG Coimbra’s 2018 athletes, the more than 4000 who are expected to compete next year.

This event happened within the scope of a protocol to be celebrated soon between University of Coimbra/EUG 2018 and the Portuguese Cycling Federation. The details of this agreement will be unveiled in the weeks to come.
