EUG2018 and Portuguese Table Tennis Federation signed memorandum

The EUG2018 Organizing Committee and the Portuguese Table Tennis Federation (FPTM) signed a memorandum agreement to assure the technical organization of two sports in the EUG2018 sports programme: Table Tennis and Para-Table Tennis.

FPTM will assure the sporting equipment for both sports during EUG2018, as well as to supply resources to guarantee all equipment working. Still in FPTM list of responsibilities in this memorandum is the referees' nomination, the technical sports management and coordination, the fulfilling of all sports rules, and the nomination of the technical delegate.

The memorandum was signed by Mário Santos, EUG2018 Organizing Committee Secretary-General, and Pedro Miguel Moura, FPTM President, in the headquarters of the Portuguese Paralympic Committee (CPP), with whom both entities had a meeting to assure CPP support in the organization of all details regarding the Para-Table Tennis sport. José Manuel Lourenço, CPP President, was the host of this meeting. CPP will be an important partner of EUG2018 due to all their knowledge in sports for people with disabilities.

Para-Table Tennis is the sole sport in EUG2018' programme for people with disabilities, answering to EUSA's demands to have at least one sport for people with disabilities. It also assures EUG2018 links sports with people with disability, one of the goals stated by the Organizing Committee when bidding for the EUG 2018 organization.
