Coimbra celebrated International Day of University Sport
The International Day of University Sport (IDUS), endorsed by UNESCO, was celebrated this Sunday in Coimbra, an event promoted by the Portuguese University Sports Federation (FADU).
Choupalinho Park, in Coimbra, was the place chosen to host IDUS. The event included several sports activities that ended with a group class that gathered both students and the population of Coimbra.
The event was open to all the community, beside students, and had dozens of local inhabitants, from youngsters to seniors, participating in activities such as Inflatables, dancing, Climbing, rowing, canoeing and stand-up paddle.
Alongside with these activities, there was an Inter-Academy tournament with the participation of students from academic associations from different universities. The winner was ISEP’s academic association, just like last year.
The day ended with a group class that gathered dozens of people and assured vibrant environment in Choupalinho Park to close IDUS 2017.
The event is promoted by FADU every year and had the support of several sponsors, like Jogos Santa Casa, and local municipality, besides the Portuguese Sports and Youth Institute, the AAC (Academic Association of University of Coimbra) and local clubs and sports federations.
