The volunteer program for EUG2018 had an enormous demand with the number of applications submitted by international candidates exceeding all expectations.

The organization received almost three times more candidates than the total number needed and therefore the application process has closed for international candidates. However, the process is still open for Portugal's candidates.

In total, there will be around 1000 volunteers involved in the European Universities Games 2018. The Organizing Committee is responsible for recruiting and selecting applicants living in Portugal. International candidates go through the selection process from their respective home countries with online support.
